 Bright Horizons Child Care and Early Education Center at The Octagon is a full service early learning program for children ages six weeks through five years old. We are a full-day program, open from 7:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., serving fifty children. Part-time enrollment is also available.
We are proud to offer a unique natural playground with mature trees and exciting climbing structures appropriate for various ages. Our spacious classrooms offer home-like environments with natural lighting, warm colors and attention to architectural detail. The center is designed to provide a stimulating, developmentally based learning environment.
The infant room is a "shoeless" environment in which very young children can explore their world in a stimulating and safe way. Teachers in the infant and toddler programs provide nurturing and love as they gently encourage exploration. The preschool program is designed to provide not only that same nurturing and support, but also an exciting environment where children can begin to discover the world around them through language, math, environmental education, science, art, movement, and music. Back-up care is available for well children of all ages served at the center whose regular care is not available. Space is provided based on availability.
The teacher to child ratio meets widely recognized national standards of quality as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the New York City Department of Health.
Two snacks, juice and milk are provided daily. Children are asked to bring their own lunch.
