There’s no doubt that New York City is one of the best places in America to celebrate the Fourth of July. Between the different concerts, parties, and Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks, there are plenty of events to keep busy near the Octagon this holiday weekend.
Blue Note Jazz Festival– If you love jazz, then you should head over to the Blue note Jazz Festival, taking place AT south street seaport from 5:30-9:00pm on July 4th. The free concert commemorates this uniquely American art form with a brass-heavy line up including saxophonist David Sanborn, trumpeter Maurice Brown, and many other artists.
Summer beach Party on the 4th– If you’re looking to party at the beach for the holdau, head over to Riis Park Beach Bazaar in Rockaway Beach in Queens to celebrate in the sand and sun. They’ll be live music sets from a variety of DJs, as well as delicious food, cold beverages, and awesome vendors. The party starts at noon on Tuesday, July 4th and you can attend for free! Macy’s 4th of july Fireworks– Close out the weekend by watching the amazing display of Macy’s 41st Annual Fireworks show. The show, which can be watched at different areas across Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn, will begin at 9:25pm on the 4th. Since the fireworks will deploy from the East River from 24th Street to 41st Street, you’ll be able to see the fireworks from Roosevelt Island. If you’d like a better vantage point however, you can head down to South Street Seaport for a spectacular view.
