St. Patrick’s Day is almost upon us- do you know how you’ll be celebrating this year? This year March 17th falls on a Saturday, so you know the festivities will last all weekend long in the city.  Check out some of the featured events below that are taking place near The Octagon.

Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Celebrating its 43th year, the Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a staple in New York that commemorates St. Patrick’s Day without the unmanageable crowds of the parade in Manhattan.  The parade will begin at 1:00pm at 15th Street and Prospect Park West and will make its way down 15th Street to 7th Avenue. Arrive earlier at your standing spot to observe the 9/11 memorial, taking place at 12:45pm.

St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl- if you’re looking to day drink to commemorate the holiday, then grab your friends and get tickets to the city’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl. This three-day event over St. Patrick’s Day weekend features drink specials and parties at bars and pubs all around the city.  To participate, you must purchase a green wristband at Village Pourhouse and then you can cash in on the specials the ticket has to offer!
