What’s one of the best things about New York in the summer? All of the outdoor events there are to enjoy! Whether you’re into the arts or grabbing drinks with friends, there are a ton of awesome events taking place right outside your Octagon apartment. Check out some of the listings below to start making your plans!

 

Shakespeare in the Park– Celebrate the famous works of Shakespeare at Shakespeare in the Park, one of New York’s favorite recurring arts events. Organized by the Public Theater, Shakespeare in the Park offers free, large-scale works by William Shakespeare, at the beautiful Delacorte Theater. Shows take place Tuesday through Sunday at 8pm and will run through August. Tickets may be hard to come by but yore encouraged to enter the online lottery to get your seat, or by lining up in Central Park to view your favorite show.

 

Visions of Hawaii at the New York Botanical Garden – Head up to the New York Botanical Garden for Aloha nights a celebration of Hawaiian culture, music, and gardens! Take a look at the garden’s new exhibit, Georgia O’Keefe: Visions of Hawai’I, learn how to hula, watch lei-making demos. Snack on a poke bowl and treat yourself to a cup or two of Passiflora punch! Tickets are $38 per person.

 

Sunset Sail Happy Hour– Even if your weekends are booked up, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a fun event on a weekday! Head over to Pier 15 on Wednesday, June 28th to enjoy a Sunset Sail Happy Hour around the Hudson. On this two-hour long ride, take in the beautiful views of the city skyline while enjoying light bites, complimentary wine, and DJ-spun beats. For a limited time, tickets are only $20 so gather your friends and plan ahead!
